The focus of connected car technology is really about the safety and consideration of drivers – putting their needs at the center of innovation and development within the industry. The C2C (or V2V) connectivity for crash avoidance doesn’t even go through any infrastructure – it is point to point between cars. Nonetheless, protection of privacy and personal data is a big part of the connected car, as all automotive manufacturers want their future customers to be free from worrying about the security of their car’s data and connections. Having a connected car will be no more of an invasion of privacy than owning a smartphone.
