ARM-based tracking device monitors horse health 24/7

NIGHTWatchHorse NightWatch_24-image NightWatch_24-appSince it’s Kentucky Derby week. While we can’t help you identify the winning horse, we can tell you about an innovative device that’s designed to keep horses safe. It’s kind of like a really advanced Fitbit for horses.

The NIGHTWATCH leather smart halter and collar is designed to watch over a horse’s health and movements in the hours where it’s left alone. It’s designed with ARM-based Kinetis and i.MX processors, wireless technology, and a host of sensors.

Developed by Austin-based startup company Protequus, you can see it live on the NXP Smarter World Tour truck, or you can read about it on a blog that goes into more detail.
